Job summary

Parker Hannifin is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist II to provide expertise in developing, implementing, and managing effective EHS programs. The role includes leading Kaizen and safety teams, conducting training, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in EHS or related discipline, U.S. citizenship or green card, and 3+ years of experience in EHS, with preferred certifications and ISO 14001 familiarity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related discipline is required.
  • Master’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related discipline preferred.
  • 3+ years in the environmental, health and safety field with increasing responsibility preferred.
  • Professional safety or environmental certification (ASP, GSP, CSP, ASHM, CSMP, CSHM, CIH) preferred.
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Management training per 40 CFR 262.36 preferred.
  • DOT Training per 49 CFR 172.700-704 preferred.
  • HAZWOPER 40 hour initial and 8-hour refresher training per 29 CFR 1910.120 preferred.
  • ISO 14001 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Benchmark Gensuite, HumanTech or other EHS software preferred.

Job description

Position Summary

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist II provides expertise in the development, implementation and management of effective environmental, health and safety programs/systems.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the development, documentation, improvement, and audit of facility environmental, health and safety systems and assure conformance and effectiveness.
  • Determine facility environmental, safety and health requirements and analyze for compatibility with corporate practices.
  • Maintain facility environmental, health, and safety image through interface with appropriate personnel to clarify requirements.
  • Resolve environmental, health and safety issues in a professional, timely, and effective manner.
  • Complete EHS-related training of personnel and develop training materials.
  • Lead activities in support of Kaizen, Safety Star Point Teams, Emergency Response Teams, Carbon Reduction Teams and other project teams.
  • Complete industrial hygiene air sampling per matrix or as needed.
  • Investigate emergency spill response and incident.
  • Compliance monitoring of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Assist with government required recordkeeping and reporting.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related discipline.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related discipline.
  • 3+ years in the environmental, health and safety field with demonstrated increasing responsibility.
  • Professionally recognized safety or environmental certification (ASP, GSP, CSP, ASHM, CSMP, CSHM, CIH).
  • RCRA Hazardous Waste Management training in accordance with 40 CFR 262.36.
  • DOT Training in accordance with 49 CFR 172.700-704.
  • 40 hour initial and 8‑hour refresher training in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER).
  • ISO 14001 experience.
  • Knowledge of SAP, Benchmark Gensuite, HumanTech, and/or other EHS‑related software.
