Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years experience in environmental, health and safety in manufacturing.
  • Certifications in RCRA, OSHA 30 Hour, and 40 Hour HAZWOPER preferred.

General Information:

The Environmental, Safety and Health Specialist (EHS) will be responsible for supporting the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Department with the development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of programs, ensuring compliance with company policies, federal, state, and local regulations.

This position is responsible for:

  • Providing outstanding customer service while building relationships at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Conducting investigations and root cause analysis, and communicating findings to the appropriate departments and/or leadership.
  • Developing and implementing corrective/preventative actions that improve the safety and environmental conditions of the facility.
  • Assisting in job hazard and environmental assessments, and participating in the development and implementation of improved processes and procedures.
  • Maintaining current knowledge of industry and regulatory laws, guidelines, and practices.
  • Communicating and initiating improvements resulting from changing regulations.
  • Conducting, assigning, and participating in health & safety audits, including the development and drafting of audit documentation, tracking corrective actions, and monitoring of trends.
  • Maintaining EHS databases, files, and records, and modifying and implementing compliance tracking programs and recordkeeping systems.
  • Assisting Technical Trainers in the development of technical documents including EHS and Operational procedures, programs, job aides, and training documents.
  • Developing and conducting training on environmental and safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Providing routine reminders and training for site leaders on protocol and upward communication steps to be taken in the event of unannounced OSHA, EPA, Fire Department, or other regulatory agency visit.
  • Supporting the EHS manager in responding to emergency situations during or after hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Graduate/GED equivalent.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in environmental, health and safety in a manufacturing environment.
  • AAS in Environmental Technology or related field, preferred.
  • RCRA and Hazardous Waste Management Certification.
  • OSHA 30 Hour Certification.
  • 40 Hour HAZWOPER.
