EHS Specialist: Drive Zero-Injury Safety & Compliance

Job summary

Vertiv in Anderson, SC seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional to plan, implement, and manage local EHS programs to drive to zero injuries.

You will partner with plant management to develop risk-reduction solutions, provide training, and ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, DOT and NFPA 70E. 4–8 years EHS in manufacturing is preferred; strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or relevant EHS experience.
• 4–8 years EHS experience in manufacturing operations.
• Federal DOT knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence management to improve safety.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and promote safety as a Vertiv core value and drive a positive safety culture.
• Identify and prioritize EHS initiatives in support of business needs.
• Coordinate with Learning and Development to evaluate and implement EHS training.
• Maintain data collection and reporting systems for EHS metrics and KPIs.
• Coordinate EHS metrics with the Vertiv Operating System (VOS).
• Ensure new equipment and lines follow safety and regulatory requirements.
• Advise the EHS leader on facility risks, incidents, and policies.
• Measure and monitor environmental impacts per regulations and policy.
• Establish, monitor, enforce, and improve EHS systems and procedures.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and hazard assessments.
• Maintain safety records (SDS, JSA, Ergonomic Assessments).
• Maintain incident and injury records and OSHA/Vertiv compliance.
• Ensure EPA regulatory requirements are met (waste, stormwater, EPCRA).
• Manage Hazmat shipping registration and vendor contracts.
• Conduct incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and hearings as required.
• Support Emergency and Crisis Management and MERT.
• Typical day shift; some after-hours or travel may be required.
