Job summary

Saronic Technologies is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support Vessel Testing, Depot Repairs, Field Services, Fulfilment and Distribution. The role focuses on US East Coast (Virginia) and EMEA with emphasis on the UK, developing and managing critical EHS programs and training.

The position partners with operational teams across regions to ensure compliance with U.S. and U.K. regulations, promote learning, and drive operational excellence in maritime environments.

Qualifications

Job Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and collaborative Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our fast-growing operations across Mission Services covering Vessel Testing, Depot Repairs, Field Services, Fulfilment, and Distribution. This role will primarily support operations on the U.S. East Coast (Virginia) and the Europe, Middle East, Asia (EMEA) region, with a focus on the United Kingdom (UK).

This position provides a unique opportunity to partner with multiple operational teams responsible for testing and servicing autonomous surface vessels across geographically diverse and highly regulated environments. The EHS Specialist will support the development, implementation, and management of critical EHS programs and training to ensure compliance with U.S. and U.K. regulatory frameworks, while promoting a culture of learning and operational excellence.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, engineering, public health, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM) preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in EHS, preferably in maritime, aerospace, defense, or general manufacturing or industrial environments.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience supporting multi-region EHS programs, particularly in the U.S. East Coast, Virginia, the U.K., and EMEA.
  • Working knowledge of the following in the Americas and EMEA:
  • Maritime safety
  • Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations
  • Experience in maritime or vessel operations strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of implementing EHS programs across geographically distributed teams
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to develop data-driven safety solutions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across cross-cultural and remote teams
  • Experience delivering training to diverse audiences, including international teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating across time zones and multiple sites
Physical Demands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment
  • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports
