Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive OSHA Recordkeeping Specialist to support our injury case evaluation and compliance efforts. This role is responsible for assessing injury cases for OSHA recordability, maintaining accurate documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and compliant reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate new injury cases using safety and Workers’ Compensation data.
- Navigate and utilize the EMIS recordkeeping system to track injury data and field notes.
- Make independent decisions regarding OSHA recordability status based on case reviews.
- Monitor and respond to inquiries in the general OSHA email inbox, providing guidance to field personnel.
- Collaborate with EHS, HR, and Operations teams to gather additional information for injury cases.
- Document and upload supporting notes into EMIS to justify recordability decisions.
- Establish recordability status within five days of the injury date.
- Monitor cases for updates or changes beyond the initial 5-day window.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, particularly the General Industry Recordkeeping Standard (29 CFR 1904.7).
- Basic understanding of Workers’ Compensation and return-to-work concepts.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Attention to detail in reviewing injury/incident data.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a remote and open office space environment.
- Flexible work hours to support teams across multiple time zones to meet monthly/yearly data needs.
- Ability to escalate complex or questionable cases to leadership.
- Experience collecting and organizing documentation to support OSHA recordability decisions.
Experience & Education
- 2–4 years of experience in safety, data analysis, or a related field.
- Proven success working remotely with small to medium-sized teams, and in an open-office setting.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in safety or compliance are a plus.
- Expertise in OSHA General Industry Recordkeeping Standard (29 CFR 1904.7) is highly desirable.
