Job summary

A leading global engineering company is looking for an EHS Specialist responsible for implementing and maintaining SHE programs. Job Title: EHS Specialist
Division ESCO
Location: Onsite - Can be located in Phoenix, Salt Lake City or Portland

Purpose of Role: The SHE Specialist is responsible for design, implementing, and maintaining programs and policies that provide safe & sustainable working conditions in compliance with SHE (Safety, Health & Environmental) legislation and internal Weir standards. Supporting and coordinating all SHE related activities within region and supporting wider Divisional & Group initiatives on our journey towards Zero Harm.

This position will support 3 small fabrication sites, 1 distribution center and other sales and services office sites, located in USA and Canada

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in SHE Strategy Implementation: Support the deployment of Weir Group SHE Strategy across the Sales and Services sites in NAM Region. Engage with Senior Leaders and stakeholders to ensure their participation. Assist in coaching and partnering with ESCO managers, employees, and SHE resources on SHE strategy and performance goals.

  • Support Risk Assessment Activities: Work with site teams to help develop and implement risk mitigation strategies. Provide basic training and resources to site personnel to improve their understanding of risk identification and management. Promote a proactive approach to risk management and continuous improvement.

  • Facilitate Change Initiatives: Assist in embedding the Zero Harm Behavior Framework and support communication efforts across various levels of the organization.

  • Analyze Data and Trends: Help interpret SHE trend analysis and statistics, providing insights to leaders. Assist in preparing regional monthly reports on SHE performance, trends, and corrective actions.

  • Conduct Site Visits and Provide Support: Participate in site self-assessments and recommend actions to address hazardous situations. Support the development of SHE resources and skills to achieve continuous performance improvement.

  • Promote Safety Culture: Show commitment to zero harm behaviors and support efforts to develop a world-class safety culture.




Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; will consider 5+ years’ experience in a SHE role similar to this position in lieu of a degree

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Safety position in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be willing and able to travel up around 30% (domestic and international)

  • Experience with multiple sites preferred

  • Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States

  • Proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
