Job summary

Jabil is seeking an EHS Specialist to establish and promote a safe, compliant work environment in a manufacturing setting. You will develop safety policies, train employees, and collaborate across departments to enforce guidelines.

The role emphasizes risk assessments, incident investigations, and continuous safety program improvements to protect personnel and operations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preference given to candidates with education and/or training specific to EHS in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrate creativity in identifying solutions balancing customer and operational goals with EHS compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements general safety policies and procedures in accordance with company requirements.
  • Consults with departments on equipment design, fire prevention and safety programs, and environmental permits.
  • Partners with operations and engineering to complete risk assessments.
  • Supports layout of manufacturing workspace for a safe environment.
  • Participates in new product integration and management of changes projects.
  • Formulates safety policies and guidelines.
  • Inspects facilities to detect hazards and recommends preventive measures.
  • Develops training programs and communications to promote safe practices.
  • Participates in accident/injury investigations and maintains safety records.

How will you make an impact?

The EHS Specialist will establish and promote the maintenance of a safe, accident‑free, healthy work environment that is compliant with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures and employee communications regarding safety guidelines. Train employees in safe workplace practices.

What will you do?
  • Develops and implements general safety policies and procedures in accordance with company requirements to be followed by site personnel in compliance with local, state, regional, and national environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Consults with all departments on design and use of equipment, fire prevention and safety programs, and any applicable environmental permits or compliance requirements.
  • Partners with operations, engineering, work cell leaders, and operators in the completion of risk assessments.
  • Supports the layout of manufacturing workspace to optimize a safe working environment.
  • Participates in new product integration and other management of changes projects.
  • Formulates appropriate safety policies and guidelines.
  • Inspects or tours facilities to detect existing or potential accidents, incidents, and health hazards.
  • Recommends corrective or preventative measures where indicated.
  • Keeps managers and employees alerted as to the hazards of working with toxic fumes, chemicals, and any other hazardous substances.
  • Develops training programs and communications to increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness.
  • Participates in accident/injury investigations.
  • Maintains safety files and records.
  • May report to management on health and safety issues and concerns.
  • Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
How will you get here?
Knowledge
  • Develops, implements and supports general EHS policies and procedures to be followed by employees in compliance with local, state, regional, and national regulations.
  • Requires working knowledge of US‑OSHA and EPA compliance requirements associated with manufacturing operations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build working relationships with individual employees, site leaders, regional EHS team, and site contractors.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks with a focus on completing tasks in a managed approach with attention to technical accuracy and within established timelines.
  • Knowledge of incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Familiar with new equipment introduction and validation processes; including, user defined criteria, FAT and SAT reviews, PSSR, and other steps to ensure the appropriate review and validation of equipment prior to site operation.
  • Maintains safety files and records.
  • May report to management on health and safety issues and concerns.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e‑mail skills are required.
  • Knowledge of ISO14001, ISO45001 is preferred.
Education / experience
  • A minimum of (2) years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preference given to candidates with education and/or training specific to EHS in a manufacturing environment.
  • Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate creativity in identifying solutions which balance supporting customer and operational goals along with ensuring EHS requirements are in compliance.
Pay range

The pay range for this role is $62,400 - $98,800. Job‑related, non‑discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
