Legrand is seeking a Weekend EHS Specialist for the Starline team in Canonsburg, PA to support the continual improvement of our Environmental Health & Safety program.

You will work under the EHS manager to ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations, maintain safety documentation, lead training and safety communications, and drive safety performance at the Canonsburg facility.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental sciences or related field.
Alternative engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Weekend shift availability (Fri–Sun).
Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsabilités

Ensure Canonsburg facility complies with state, federal, DEP and OSHA regulations.
Maintain JSA, Emergency Action Plan, Legal Register, and Risk Management System.
Lead safety drills and ensure proper emergency response planning.
Oversee environmental compliance, hazardous waste handling, and waste reduction programs.
Maintain safety records, SDS database, and GHS program implementation.
Monitor injury trends and ensure on-site wastewater treatment plant compliance.
Ensure DOT compliance for company vehicles and lead safety audits.
Conduct monthly safety meetings and report safety metrics.
Demonstrate high standards of conduct and integrity.

Job Description

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Weekend EHS Specialist to join the Starline Team. This position reports to Canonsburg, PA. The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist will assist in the continual improvement and maintenance of a comprehensive EHS program.

Responsibilities

What Will You Do?

Main Job Duties

Under the leadership of the EHS manager, the EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Starline’s Canonsburg facility is in compliance with all state, federal, DEP, and OSHA regulations regarding health and safety
Maintain an existing Job Safety Analysis (JSA) program, Emergency Action Plan, Legal Register, and Risk Management System
Ensure Emergency Response plans are in proper working conditions and leading competency drills
Conduct activities related to environmental compliance, reporting, regulatory permitting, hazardous waste handling, and waste reduction/recycling programs
Oversee maintenance of all safety records including the SDS database and GHS program implementation.
Monitor trends related to employee work-related injuries
Ensure compliance of the on-site wastewater treatment plant
Ensure all company vehicles are within Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance
Conduct monthly safety committee meetings, reporting safety metrics, and departmental safety audits
Demonstrate high standards of conduct and integrity
Additional duties as required by management

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in related field, safety, environmental sciences
Alternative an engineering degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

Ability to work the Weekend Shift - Friday, Saturday, Sunday
Ability to work in cross-functional teams with diverse backgrounds and skill sets
Ability to host and present safety topics to large groups
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Knowledge of ISO-14001:2015 and ISO-45001:2018 Management Systems
Strong documentation skills with revision control
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to train and certify forklift operators in accordance with OSHA requirements

Personal Qualities/Behaviors

This position will have exposure to the manufacturing areas where, under certain areas, the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required
Ability to stand, bend and walk for extended periods of time
Able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently
Primary working hours will be weekend shift.
