Job summary

Upstate Niagara Cooperative in West Seneca, NY, is seeking a Safety Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs at the West Seneca facility. You will help ensure regulatory compliance and foster a proactive safety culture in collaboration with operations, maintenance, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or Environmental Sciences, or related field preferred.
• 2 years’ manufacturing experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of OSHA General Industry regulations.
• Excellent organizational and motivational skills.
• Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with oversight of site OSHA compliance and SMOS.
• Conduct incident investigations and support root-cause analysis.
• Provide site-specific safety training.
• Participate in daily safety huddles and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Develop SMART goals aligned with high-level initiatives.
• Perform routine safety inspections and enforce safe work practices.
• Assist with development of Lockout/Tagout procedures and safety programs.
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports (Tier II, TRI, DMRs).
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering on environmental practices.
