University of California, Riverside is seeking an EHS Safety Programs Manager to lead campus-wide occupational safety programs, drive compliance, and advance a culture of safety.
You will supervise safety specialists, partner with diverse campus units, and report to the Director of Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental Programs, ensuring measurable program outcomes and continuous improvement across the University community.
The full salary range for the EHS Safety Programs Manager is $93,200 - $174,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is from $93,200 - $129,108 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

The EHS Safety Programs Manager serves as a campus leader within Environmental Health, Safety & Risk Management (EHSRM) and reports to the Director of Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, and Environmental Programs. The position supervises assigned safety specialists and is responsible for leading, implementing, evaluating, and continuously improving occupational safety programs across the UCR campus community.
This role is accountable for campus-wide program performance, including measurable outcomes, compliance results, and effective program execution.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Experience Requirements
Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees. Functions as advisor to unit and administration. Analyzes and resolves problems, interprets policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas) and demonstrates solid subject matter knowledge. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action. Supervises staff to assure accountability and stewardship of department resources (operational, financial, and human) in compliance with departmental goals and objectives.
Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Supervises EH&S professional and technical level staff engaged in monitoring, preventing and implementing environmental health and safety programs. May oversee multiple scientific and technical disciplines, integrating criteria to meet compliance requirements. May recommend changes to department policies and practices. May serve on system-wide technical committees to develop subject area improvements or compliance.
