Job summary

Knowles Corporation in New Bedford, MA is seeking an EHS Technician to support environmental, health, and safety programs by conducting inspections, identifying hazards, and promoting a strong safety culture.

You will work with employees and supervisors to ensure regulatory compliance, maintain records, and assist with training, audits, and incident investigations. This role emphasizes hands-on safety leadership and diligent documentation to protect people and the environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in EHS, occupational safety, environmental science, or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in an EHS, safety, manufacturing, construction, laboratory, or industrial environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and general workplace safety practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to conduct inspections and work effectively with employees at all levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data/document management.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and hazard assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with incident, injury, and near-miss investigations.
• Maintain OSHA-required records, inspection reports, and EHS documentation.
• Support implementation and enforcement of company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct or assist with employee safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Monitor PPE requirements and ensure appropriate PPE is available and used.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, evacuation drills, and response procedures.
• Perform environmental inspections and assist with waste management and spill prevention programs.
• Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and applicable regulations.
• Track corrective actions and follow up to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories.
• Assist with audits, regulatory inspections, and internal EHS assessments.
• Prepare safety reports, metrics, and other documentation for management.
• Promote employee awareness of safe work practices and environmental responsibilities.
