Job summary

Lonza in Bend, Oregon is seeking an EHS Project Lead to support major growth projects and uphold the highest standards of environmental, health and safety performance. This is a fully site-based role that requires close in-person collaboration with engineering, operations and project teams to enable the manufacture of life-changing therapies.

You will work across regulatory interfaces, develop safety programs, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations while supporting the site’s growth

Qualifications

• Strong communications skills with regulators and stakeholders.
• Experience leading EHS projects in manufacturing or similar environments.
• Knowledge of air quality, wastewater, and environmental regulations.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and risk assessment methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental, health and safety activities for major capital and growth projects.
• Manage air permitting contractor and support onsite activities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Represent the site during regulatory agencies inspections, reviews and permitting processes.
• Support evaluation and implementation of wastewater treatment and discharge solutions.
• Develop and maintain OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
• Facilitate hazard assessments, process hazard analyses and HAZOP studies.
• Provide practical safety and compliance recommendations to reduce risk.

As an EHS Project Lead, you will play a critical role in supporting major growth projects by ensuring the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety performance. Working across engineering, operations, and project teams, you will help create safe, sustainable solutions that enable the manufacture of life-changing therapies for patients around the world.

This is a fully site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do

What we are looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental,chemicalor mechanical engineering, safety, ora relatedfield.
• Five or more years of experience in EHS, manufacturing,consultingor a similar environment.
• Experience supporting environmental permitting and regulatory compliance activities.
• Knowledge of air quality,wastewaterand environmental regulations.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and risk assessment methodologies.
• Strong communicationskills with the ability to work effectively with regulators and stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving, projectmanagementand relationship-building skills.
