Job summary

Texas State Technical College (TSTC) is seeking a seasoned Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) leader to oversee programs ensuring compliance with environmental and occupational safety standards. You will guide risk assessment, incident investigations, and regulatory updates while promoting a culture of safety across TSTC campuses.

The role involves developing processes, training teams, and collaborating with operational leaders to embed EHS into daily work and long-term planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health and safety, emergency management, industrial hygiene, engineering, or a related field.
  • Eight years of progressive EHS experience.
  • Experience managing EHS programs for multi-site organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer environmental health and safety programs across the organization to ensure adherence to all applicable environmental and occupational safety regulations.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate environmental and safety risks related to hazardous materials, waste management, and operational activities.
  • Review environmental incidents and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Monitor changes in environmental and safety laws and update internal policies and procedures.
  • Design and deliver training to increase employee awareness of environmental policies and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with leaders to integrate EHS practices into daily workflows and planning.
  • Prepare compliance reports and support audits to ensure transparency and accountability.
