Job summary

Boyd Company in Hopkinsville, KY is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to oversee and administer EHS policies, ensuring compliance with Federal, State and Local environmental regulations across all facilities.

You will develop procedures, conduct audits, train staff, investigate incidents, and drive continuous safety improvements while collaborating with teams to maintain a culture of integrity and high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Safety or equivalent experience.
• BCSP credential (ASP/CSP/CIH) preferred.
• 3–5 years in workplace environmental health and safety management systems.
• Strong problem solving, diagnostic and analytical skills.
• Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response 40-hour course + 8-hour recertification.
• OSHA regulatory courses in line with company program.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans, directs and coordinates activities of the company’s EHS program.
• Develops, reviews and updates relevant policy and procedures.
• Conduct periodic EHS audits and assessments for regulatory compliance.
• Identify training needs and develop programs to ensure compliance.
• Support incident reporting and investigation across locations and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Ensure regulatory reporting is accurate and on time; monitor site metrics and address undesirable trends.
• Organize and conduct EHS training for employees.
• Promote safety culture through site leadership and professional conduct.
• Perform other duties to support department and company goals.
