Ajinomoto Foods North America, Inc. Lampasas Plant is seeking an EHS Professional III to provide environmental, health, and safety support. You will lead EHS programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continual safety improvements across assigned plant operations.

The role requires strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, incident investigations, and program administration, with a focus on preventing incidents and protecting employees in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety or STEM preferred.
• 5+ years in an environmental, health, and safety role required.
• 3+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
• OSHA 30 certification required.
• Knowledge of safety programs, risk identification and regulations preferred.
• Auditing knowledge (ISO/OSHA) preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills; detail-oriented and organized.

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent facility walk arounds to identify hazards.
• Support administration of safety programs, policies and records (SDS, lockout/tag out, OSHA reporting).
• Prepare site-specific methods, JSAs, LOTO procedures, risk assessments.
• Assist with injuries and post-accident case management and investigations.
• Support wastewater and stormwater compliance efforts.
• Perform facility inspections and audits per regulations and permits.
• Deliver employee training using company tools.
• Ensure adherence to the company’s PSM program.
• Maintain OSHA 300 log and report monthly Safety Scorecards.

Overview

The EHS Professional III is responsible for providing technical environmental, health and safety support to Ajinomoto Foods (AFNA) assigned plant(s) and personnel. Essential functions include supporting the evaluation of environmental, health and safety programs and coordinating Plant activities to support local and corporate objectives. The EHS Professional III will influence behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with Ajinomoto safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment. The EHS Professional III will provide oversite to a designated plant(s) to ensure compliance with all corporate EHS programs and policies under the direction of a Site EHS Manager.

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent facility walk arounds to help in the identification of hazards that pose risks to site personnel.
• Assist with the execution of administrative programs for the preparation, distribution and maintenance of written programs, policies, procedures and records such as SDS, lockout/tag out procedures and OSHA reporting.
• Compose site specific work methods, JSAs, LOTO procedures, risk assessments etc.
• Assist with injuries and post-accident case management and investigations.
• Provide support for maintaining waste water and stormwater compliance.
• Perform facility inspections and audits in alignment with local, state and federal regulations and site specific permits.
• Conduct and support employee training utilizing company provided training tools.
• Help ensure plant is following company’s PSM program.
• Assist in maintaining OSHA 300 log.
• Be a leader and champion for continual improvement in environment, health, and safety.
• Coach, counsel and guide department leaders and team members to ensure EHS programs and policies are adhered to.
• Support Behavior Based Safety (BBS) programs by driving participation, supplying critical data, and coaching.
• Track and report monthly Safety Scorecard requirements as necessary.
• Perform other related job duties and projects as assigned.
• Subject to the requirements of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and Ajinomoto Food’s HIPAA Privacy and Security policies and procedures, assisting the Ajinomoto Food health plan with day-to-day activities involving protected health information, including but not limited to, assisting with employee claims, coordinating benefits, determining health claim status, determining eligibility for coverage, budgeting and renewal, billing and collection activities, obtaining assistance from third-parties for plan functions, and any other duties delegated by the HIPAA Privacy or Security Officer.

Qualifications

• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Safety, or STEM related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in an environmental, health, and safety role required.
• Minimum three (3) years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Completion of OSHA 30 course required.
• Knowledge of the safety and health programs, policies, risk identification and control strategies, and federal and state regulations preferred.
• Knowledge of auditing processes (ISO, OSHA, or equivalent guideline related) preferred.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office required.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to focus on details required.
