We are looking for exceptional agency PRN Nurse Practitioners (NP) Nights Thursday, Friday and Saturday to join our team at DeKalb County Jail in Decatur, Georgia for both short and long-term contracts.

Responsibilities

• Under indirect supervision, provide independent primary care in a correctional healthcare setting to a specified population of non-emergency patients
• Perform medical examinations and evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, follow-up consultation, and health education
• Obtain patient histories and develop patient care treatment plans, ensuring completeness and accuracy using the POMR format
• Supervise and/or coordinate the activities of patient care and/or support staff
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions
• Prescribe medications and other treatments
• Participate in planning programs and in developing specific health policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Current license as a Nurse Practitioner
• Current CPR certification, ACLS certification preferred
• Two (2) years of experience as a NP
• Proficient with electronic medical records
• Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance to include background check and drug screen
