Job summary

Standard Motor Products, Inc. is a leading independent manufacturer and distributor of premium automotive replacement parts used in the maintenance, repair, and service of vehicles in the automotive aftermarket.

We seek an Environmental, Health and Safety Manager to ensure adherence to company and regulatory policies across the facility, lead safety programs, conduct investigations, manage permits, train staff, and interface with regulators as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health, environmental science, or related subject.
• 3–5 years in an EHS leadership role at a distribution or manufacturing site with 300+ people.
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements.
• Experience interacting with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies.
• Understanding of workers' compensation and liability insurance claims.
• Experience conducting safety audits, job safety analyses, accident investigations, data analysis.
• Experience with hazardous/non-hazardous waste, chemical management, hazard communication, and forklift safety.
• Experience developing, organizing, and conducting presentations and training programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate hazards within the facility for safety, health, and environmental risks and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate existing health and safety procedures and develop new procedures where necessary.
• Lead the facility's Traditional and Behavior Based Safety programs and teams.
• Lead accident and injury investigations and environmental incident investigations.
• Administer the Workers Compensation program.
• Maintain facility EHS files, permits, records, and regulatory logs.
• Maintain contingency plans and procedures for spills per government regulation and insurers.
• Train employees on safety policies and regulations.
• Develop inspection policies and establish regular inspection schedules.
