Job summary

Trinity Rail in Texas seeks an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead the EHS function in our Vidor facility. You will enable management to meet environmental and safety policies while ensuring regulatory compliance.

The role requires building programs, training teams, managing a safety team, and reporting on safety metrics to prevent incidents and ensure safe operations across the site.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in EHS or similar field (those pursuing a degree will be considered).
  • 5+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • 3+ years of experience managing employees.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal regulations related to safety, health, environment and workers' compensation.
  • Ability to supervise and interface effectively across all levels.
  • Knowledge of FRA and DOT regulations.
  • Experience with operations or the ability to acquire it quickly.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and current records to generate complete and timely reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate from the shop floor to the C-Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Develop safety and environmental programs to comply with company and government regulations.
  • Lead a team responsible for implementing safety and environmental programs and policies.
  • Administer and monitor corporate safety programs and unit safety initiatives.
  • Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc. and ensure program compliance.
  • Provide training to enable effective operation of safety systems.
  • Initiate, document and monitor corrective actions for safety programs.
  • Gather information and generate required safety reports.
  • Manage the safety committee to align with production schedules.
  • Work with employees to resolve safety issues.
  • Keep facility management informed of safety and environmental concerns.
  • Assist in accident and injury investigations.
  • Manage local workers’ compensation issues.

TrinityRail is searching for an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager in Vidor, TX.


We provide a complete array of railcar maintenance services. In this role the ideal candidate will manage the Environmental, Health and Safety function to enable general and functional management to meet Trinity’s Environmental management policy.


What you’ll do:


  • Develop safety and environmental programs for compliancetocompany and government regulations

  • Manage a team of individual contributors responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring safety and environmental programs, processes and policies to safeguard employees, thegeneral publicand to ensure compliance withgovernmentalregulations

  • Administer and monitor Corporate and Business Unit safety/environmental programs

  • Maintain records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program

  • Provide training to enable effective operation of the established safety systems

  • Initiate, document and monitor corrective actions to adhere to safety programs

  • Gather information and generate required and/or requested reports

  • Manage the safety committee to accommodate production schedules and requirements

  • Work with employees to resolve safety issues

  • Keep the facility management team informed of safety and environmental concerns

  • Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries

  • Manage localworkers’compensation issues


What you’ll need:
