Job summary

Timberlab in Drain, Oregon seeks an experienced EHS leader to drive compliance, risk reduction, and a strong safety culture across mass timber manufacturing and fabrication operations.

You will develop and implement policies, lead audits, and coordinate with engineering, production, and maintenance to minimize hazards and ensure regulatory adherence. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field with 5+ years EHS leadership experience in manufacturing/wood products.
• CSP/BCSE/CIH or OSHA 30/10 and ISO 45001 certifications are beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations; permits, reporting, investigations, and training.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory Compliance and EHS System Leadership across Timberlab’s operations.
• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies aligned with OR DEQ, OR OSHA, and ISO 14001/45001 where applicable.
• Manage environmental permits, reporting, waste management, air/water compliance, and hazardous materials handling.
• Lead site audits, inspections, corrective action plans, and closure tracking.
• Establish a site-wide safety management system with annual EHS goals and metrics.
• Lead risk assessments for new processes, equipment, and formulations.
• Oversee incident investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Conduct safety trainings and maintain training records.
• Coordinate safety and environmental considerations during timber processing and finishing.
• Develop emergency response plans, drills, and business continuity plans.
• Maintain EHS records, SDS library, incident databases, and regulatory calendars.
• Interface with suppliers, contractors, and customers on EHS expectations.
