Remote. The candidate will be required to reside in Missouri or be willing to relocate to Missouri.

JBS Live Pork, LLC has an opportunity available for an Environmental Health and Safety Manager in Missouri and Indiana.

This role will provide support involving environmental health & safety for JBS supported locations. The Environmental Health and Safety Manager Position reports directly to the JBS Live Pork EHS Director and will work closely with all site personnel and leadership, to ensure site compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements as well as adherence to all company and site policies and procedures.

The main goal of the Environmental Health & Safety supervisor will be to ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents. The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible to support the strategy and vision of the EH&S Director and be able to provide the following responsibilities:

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Assist local leadership teams to ensure compliance to safety and environmental regulatory requirements as they relate to: permitting, program review, training, inspections, incident management and follow up, workers’ compensation oversight, recordkeeping and documentation control.
2. Act as the technical expert for safety, environmental, training, health and ergonomics issues.
3. Assist in completion and evaluation of facility safety audits and inspections of personnel to assure compliance with program requirements.
4. Work with local leadership in staff development as it relates to safety and environmental program requirements.
5. Facilitate functional group meetings and other specialized meetings as need dictates.
6. Provide assistance in incident management including patient care and follow-up actions, investigation, tracking and trending details for EHS events.
7. Assist in the development of annual and long-term capital plans.
8. Work with site leadership to assure MOC process is utilized for all capital requests and other changes to assure safety and environmental concerns are addressed.
9. Provide in-field EHS support for employees and provide hazard awareness directly to site employees when necessary.
10. Participate in follow up for all government inspections dealing with Safety or Environmental agencies.
11. Work with consultants to assure compliance with regulatory requirements and follow up.
12. Assist in annual review and update of standardized programs and policies to include: LOTO, Confined Space, Electrical Safety, Work at Heights, Emergency Evacuation.
13. Provide environmental technical support to contract growers.
14. Any other responsibilities as assigned by the EHS Director.

Travel:

This position will require about 10% overnight travel.

Required Qualifications:

1. 5 years’ safety or environmental management experience, preferably within agriculture industry preferred.
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Engineering, Animal Science or an equivalent combination of related experience and education.
3. General knowledge of OSHA standards.
4. Program, planning and evaluation techniques.
5. Strong written, verbal and computer skills are essential.
6. Outstanding communication skills in order to lead and engage employees.
