Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is hiring an EHS Manager for a six-month, full-time position based in Indianapolis, IN. The role entails conducting health and safety risk assessments, performing field observations, and developing comprehensive safety programs across laboratory and manufacturing settings.

You will coach frontline staff to improve safe behaviors and work with leadership to drive safe decision-making. Travel to client sites is expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

  • BS in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related science degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience with exposure to manufacturing or R&D industries preferred.
  • Experience conducting health and safety risk assessments and industrial hygiene assessments.
  • Radiation Safety experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health and safety risk assessments.

  • Assist with collection, review, and analysis of field data to evaluate conditions, present information, and implement effective solutions, especially in a laboratory environment.
  • Provide safety coaching, including influencing safe behavior in a dynamic work environment with frontline staff, and influence safe decision-making with leadership.
  • Assess continuous changes in a research and development setting.
  • Identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Support client’s desire to improve H&S performance by providing field coaching.
  • Participate as an enthusiastic team member on various project teams and effectively complete assignments.
  • Spend time onsite at the client location to help solve their H&S challenges.

Job description

ERM is hiring an EHS Manager in Indianapolis, IN.

This is a full-time (40 hours a week), limited-term position for a duration of six months, with the possibility to extend.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct health and safety risk assessments.
  • Perform field EHS observations and inspections.
  • Develop and deploy safety programs such as risk assessment, radiation safety, industrial hygiene, chemical safety, laboratory safety, contractor management, and Management of Change.
