Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager for a contract-to-hire position in Atglen, PA. The role focuses on OSHA and DoD compliance, safety program development, training, and regulatory reporting.

You will lead cross-functional teams to drive safety and environmental performance, review SOPs, manage incidents, and coordinate audits and training across facilities, ensuring alignment with federal and organizational standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Health, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a safety supervisory role.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
• Experience with hazardous materials/substances preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with training, inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting required for managing all generated waste.
• Lead and manage cross-functional teams/committees in the development and implementation of a proactive ergonomics program.
• Support environmental remediation activities, site delineation, and preparation of reports for the EPA.
• Monitor employees and equipment to verify compliance with all ISO standards and related procedures.
• Conduct onboarding safety training for new employees, including instruction on proper safety procedures and revision levels.
• Review and update OSHA 300 logs and applicable regulations as required.

Job Summary

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, as well as maintaining overall workplace safety and environmental compliance. This role develops and implements safety policies, conducts employee training, monitors hazardous materials, manages EHS databases, and oversees regulatory reporting. The EHS Specialist works cross-functionally to support facility inspections, promote safety awareness, and identify proactive measures to prevent hazards and maintain a safe, compliant workplace aligned with federal and organizational standards.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with training, inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting required for managing all generated waste.
• Lead and manage cross-functional teams/committees in the development and implementation of a proactive ergonomics program.
• Support environmental remediation activities, site delineation, and preparation of reports for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
• Monitor employees and equipment to verify compliance with all ISO standards and related procedures.
• Conduct onboarding safety training for new employees, including instruction on proper safety procedures and revision levels.
• Perform weekly inspections of production buildings and magazines, ensuring proper recordkeeping, N.E.W. limits, and explosive-compatibility compliance.
• Maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory, perform ordering tasks, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Conduct monthly safety team meetings and site-wide procedural/update meetings as needed.
• Ensure understanding of and compliance with DoD 4145.26-M Contractor’s Safety Manual for Ammunition and Explosives.
• Maintain all safety training records, logs, and documents in a well-organized and easily accessible format.
• Coordinate required training programs including DOT, HAZWOPER, IATA, and other regulatory courses.
• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to ensure alignment with OSHA requirements and the organization's AS9100D/ISO 9001:2015 quality system.
• Participate in quarterly audits with the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA).
• Follow up on work-related injuries, ensuring proper corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Review and update MSDS/SDS documentation as needed.
• Review OSHA 300 logs and applicable regulations as required.
• Coordinate with Human Resources and external representatives to support Workers’ Compensation insurance claims.
• Oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) activities every three years and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) every five years.

Education & Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Health, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a safety supervisory role.
