Job summary

Arc Boat Company seeks a self-motivated EHS leader to build and scale safety programs at our Los Angeles manufacturing facility, supporting a fast-moving startup culture with clear ownership and practical safety solutions.

You will lead OSHA/CalOSHA compliance, incidents investigations, waste management, and safety training while partnering with operations and engineering to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Occupational Safety or related field or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of managing and implementing EHS programs in engineering or manufacturing.
• Solid working knowledge of OSHA, CalOSHA, EPA, CUPA, SCAQMD, NIOSH and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across the organization, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a culture of safety.
• Collaborate with operations leadership, engineers, and staff at all levels to implement best-in-class safety initiatives.
• Maintain and improve safety programs including high-voltage, crane safety, chemical management, incident management, ergonomics, hygiene, and air quality.
• Manage safety ticketing system and associated metrics.
• Lead accident investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventative actions; manage injuries.
• Identify proactive safety opportunities in manufacturing and document inspections.
• Own all hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including handling, labeling, and storage.
• Ensure compliance to safety programs and standards including hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, LOTO, machine guarding, tools, electrical, emergency response, and chemical management.

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is a self-motivated builder with the ability to create safety systems, who can adapt quickly in a dynamic environment, and effectively balances regulatory compliance with practical solutions to support our growth. You will work from our manufacturing facility in Los Angeles. Given that we’re a startup, you will be working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment that requires adaptability. Still, there are some responsibilities and qualifications we expect to stay relatively constant in this role.

What You’ll Do

• Leading and maintaining Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across the organization, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility
• Working closely with operations leadership, engineers, and employees at all levels to implement best-in-class safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement
• Maintaining and improving occupational safety programs such as high-voltage, crane safety, chemical management, incident management, industrial ergonomics, industrial hygiene, and air quality.
• Managing safety ticketing system and associated metrics
• Leading accident/incidents investigations, analyze root causes, and implement preventative actions; Managing occupational and/or workers compensation injuries
• Identifying proactive workplace safety opportunities in a manufacturing environment and documenting safety inspections
• Owning all hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including proper handling, labeling, and storage
• Recognizing requirements and ensuring compliance to safety programs and standards including: hazard communication, fall protection, respiratory protection, lockout/tag-out (LOTO), machine guarding, power & hand-held tools, electrical, emergency response, and chemical management

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety Management, Occupational Safety or a related field; or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of managing and implementing Environmental, Health, and Safety programs in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable regulations (OSHA, CalOSHA, EPA, CUPA, SCAQMD, NIOSH)
• Working knowledge of ANSI standards

The base salary for this role is P3: $140,000 P4: $170,000 annually.
