Job summary

Azenta Inc. in New Jersey is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to lead the site EHS program at our South Plainfield location. You will ensure regulatory compliance, develop policies, and promote a positive safety culture across the site.

You will manage compliance with OSHA standards, train employees, support quality and documentation, and drive continuous improvement in environmental health and safety practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Occupational Safety.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the company-wide health and safety program under EHS/OSHA regulations.
  • Develop, communicate, and revise corporate EHS policies and docs.
  • Provide guidance on safe chemical handling and disposal.
  • Implement corrective actions for EHS hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and permits.
  • Support QA with EHS tasks related to the Quality System.
  • Collect and report data for corporate EHS and Security initiatives.
  • Assist with employee training and quality documentation administration.

How you’ll add value

The role of the Environmental Health & Safety Manager is to provide EHS leadership and direction and minimize EHS related risk for the site. This position is responsible for site EHS program management in our New Jersey site, including managing and administering environmental, health, and safety programs to meet regulatory requirements, corporate initiatives, company objectives and to promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.

What you’ll do
  • Manage the company-wide health and safety program according to applicable EHS/OSHA regulations
  • Propose, develop, maintain, revise and communicate final corporate EHS policies, procedures and documents
  • Provide guidance on proper use and disposal of chemicals, hazardous materials, equipment, etc. to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance
  • Recommend and implement effective and sustainable corrective actions where environmental health & safety hazards exist
  • Provide expertise to all personnel to ensure compliance with all applicable standards, regulations, guidelines, processes and permits
  • Assist senior QA personnel with execution of applicable EHS tasks related to the Quality System
  • Ensure accurate and timely data collection and reporting for all required corporate EHS and Security initiatives
  • Assist with management of employee training and administration of quality documentation
What you’ll bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Occupational Safety required
  • 3-5 years of experience in an EHS/OSHA-compliance role required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential
  • Self-motivated and a strong desire to learn
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • OSHA 10/30-hour certification desired
  • Experience with hazard recognition training

Compensation

United States Base Compensation: $97,000.00 - $121,000.00 The posted pay range for this position is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure. Final compensation may vary above or below this range depending on factors such as experience, education (including licensure and certifications), qualifications, performance, and geographic location, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
