Ericsson Inc. in Plano, TX is seeking an EHS Manager to establish and improve its Environmental, Health, Safety, and Well-Being programs across the United States.

The role emphasizes governance, data-driven insights, and a strong safety culture aligned with Target Zero. You will lead initiatives to align with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001, interpret US regulations, and collaborate with leadership while staying independent from daily operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• Recognised EHS qualification (CSP/CEP) preferred or able to obtain.
• Minimum 7 years of EHS experience in manufacturing/services.

Responsibilities

• Establish, implement, maintain, and improve EHS policies and requirements in the United States.
• Drive effectiveness and maturity of the EHS Management System in line with ISO 45001 / ISO 14001.
• Interpret US EHS laws (OSHA, environmental) into Ericsson policies and guidance.
• Identify EHS risks using data, metrics, and trends to drive improvements.
• Lead incident investigations with robust root-cause analysis and regulatory-ready docs.
• Advise on environmental aspects, high-hazard controls, and pre-job EHS reviews.
• Monitor performance against targets and drive corrective/preventive actions.
• Coordinate EHS governance forums and leadership reviews for alignment and documentation.
• Support digitalization, automation, and AI initiatives in EHS programs.
• Contribute to EHS reporting, audits, and wellbeing initiatives.

About This Opportunity

The EHS Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving Ericsson’s Environmental, Health, Safety, and Well-Being (EHS) policies, programs, and requirements across the United States.

Acting as a subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor, this role strengthens Ericsson’s EHS Management System, ensures compliance with US regulatory requirements, and drives a sustainable safety culture and employee well‑being aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Ericsson’s Target Zero ambition.

The role focuses on EHS governance, systems, data, and culture, partnering closely with leadership and EHS Delivery teams while remaining independent from day‑to‑day operational execution.

What you will do:

• Establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve Ericsson’s EHS policies, programs, standards, and requirements within the United States.
• Drive the effectiveness, consistency, and maturity of the EHS Management System, ensuring alignment with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Ericsson global governance.
• Interpret and integrate US EHS legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g., OSHA and environmental regulations) into Ericsson policies, processes, and guidance.
• Proactively identify EHS risks and opportunities, using data, metrics, and trend analysis to drive prevention‑focused and strategic improvements.
• Lead and support incident investigations, including serious incidents, ensuring robust root cause analysis, regulatory‑ready documentation, and sustainable learning.
• Provide expert guidance on environmental aspects and impacts, high‑hazard work controls, OHS maturity assessments, and pre‑job EHS reviews.
• Monitor EHS performance against targets, identify deviations, and propose corrective and preventive actions aligned with Target Zero.
• Coordinate and participate in EHS governance forums, safety committees, and leadership reviews to ensure effective communication, engagement, and documentation.
• Support digitalization, automation, and AI‑enabled initiatives to improve efficiency, consistency, and execution of EHS programs.
• Contribute to EHS reporting, audits, assessments, and well‑being initiatives, supporting informed leadership decision‑making and competence development.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as required to support EHS business operations
• Coordinate and lead Ericsson EHS representation to the regulatory bodies, Industry forums and external entities as required.
• Champion a strong safety and well‑being culture through awareness, continuous engagement and employee empowerment across environment, health, safety and well‑being matters.

The skills you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree and/or formally recognized qualification in Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related discipline.
• Recognized professional EHS qualification, such as:
• Certifications/Skills: BCSP Certification preferred or ability to quickly obtain (CSP or CEP preferred)
• Post‑Graduate Degree or MSc in Environmental and/ou  RS OHS Management
• Equivalent internationally recognized certification
• Minimum 7 years of experience within Environmental, Health, Safety, and Well‑Being roles.
• Strong conceptual and practical knowledge of EHS legislation, risk management, Lean Six Sigma practices and ISO 45001 / ISO 14001.
• Experience in supporting EHS in manufacturing and services.

Your Pay

The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job‑related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan :

Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro‑ration rules apply.

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of three medical plan options and a dental plan option that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost that Ericsson pays toward the cost of their medical and dental premiums for themselves and eligible covered dependents.

Your Financial Security

We invest in both your short and long‑term financial wellbeing. The Ericsson US 401(k) Plan offers an automatic 3% company contribution and Ericsson match $1 for every $1 you put into the 401(k) Plan on the first 3% of your eligible pay, plus 50 cents on every $1 on the next 2% of eligible pay. When you contribute at least 5% of eligible pay, you are receiving Ericsson’s full matching contributions of 4%. Matching and company automatic contributions stop when your total eligible pay for the year reaches the IRS limits. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short‑term and long‑term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.

Your Time

Your work‑life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro‑rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
