Job summary

Vibrant Ingredients in Indianapolis is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead our site EHS program. This hands-on role focuses on regulatory compliance, safe operations, and continuous improvement across the production floor.

You will develop and manage initiatives aligned with OSHA, EPA, and industry standards, while engaging frontline teams to foster a strong safety culture and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred.
  • 4-6 years of progressive EHS experience in manufacturing/industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI and EHS regulations.
  • Experience with EHS Management Systems, risk assessments, and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the site EHS function and production operators.
  • Develop practical solutions and execute with urgency and ownership.
  • Lead environmental programs including waste management, air and water permits, and chemical requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs in alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Promote proactive safety culture through training, risk assessments, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct safety audits and inspections with corrective actions.
  • Oversee reporting for environmental and safety metrics.
  • Primary contact for regulatory agencies and inspections.
  • Draft and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Champion the EHS Management System using data to drive improvements.
  • Lead security efforts with Corporate and plant Leadership Teams.

As the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will lead critical EHS programs at our Indianapolis facility. In this highly visible role, you will develop and manage initiatives to ensure regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and a strong safety culture throughout the site.This is an actively hands-on role that requires consistent engagement on the plant floor.

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the site EHS function and production operators.
  • Develop practical solutions and execute them with urgency and ownership.
  • Lead the site's environmental programs, including waste management, air and water permits, and chemical requirements.

  • Conduct safety audits, inspections, and root cause analyses, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Oversee reporting and recordkeeping for environmental and safety metrics.
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and inspections.
  • Draft and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  • Champion the EHS Management System by utilizing data to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Lead security efforts in partnership with Corporate and plant Leadership Teams.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • CSP or ASP certification preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field preferred.
  • 4-6 years of progressive EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ANSI, and relevant EHS regulations.
  • Experience with EHS Management Systems, risk assessments, and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to independently drive EHS initiatives from identification through implementation with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS software platforms.
  • May involve exposure to allergens such as Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shellfish, Milk, Egg, Tree Nuts and Sesame.
  • Ability to work in hot and cold manufacturing production environments.
