Job summary

Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) seeks an experienced EHS professional to lead safety programs at our Wisconsin facility. You will train staff, enforce safety rules, and manage industrial hygiene, waste, and compliance tasks to ensure food safety and worker health.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety management, environmental science, environmental engineering, industrial health and safety or related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3–5 years of operational safety leadership experience, preferably in food industry.
  • Technical knowledge of fluid milk, cheese and drying operations preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional with OSHA 511 preferred.
  • First Responder / BLS training preferred.
  • Understanding of 1904 Recordkeeping Standards and 1910 General Industry Standards.
  • Knowledge of investigations, hazard recognition, training, recordkeeping and behavioral safety.

Responsibilities

  • Support Environmental, Health and Safety at the facility by training and enforcing safety programs.
  • Administer OSHA-compliant safety training and develop safe work behaviors.
  • Manage industrial hygiene programs including testing and monitoring.
  • Oversee waste inspections and proper disposal documentation.
  • Collect and document site EHS monitoring data (noise, CO, heat exposure, storm water).
  • Implement and manage drug and alcohol testing per federal/state laws.
  • Schedule EHS compliance inspections and track corrective actions.
  • Promote safety awareness through communications and training programs.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, plant services and QA to minimize hazards.
  • Identify corrective actions through audits of facilities and equipment.
  • Manage DOT driver files, drug screening, and documentation.
  • Analyze safety metrics to improve programs and reduce injuries.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims investigations and actions.
  • Ensure OSHA and environmental reporting is completed on time.
  • Maintain training records for occupational health, environmental and DOT topics.
