Job summary

General Matter, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) intern to support health, safety, and environmental protection efforts during enrichment technology development and pilot-scale operations.

You will work with experienced EHS professionals to build practical programs for managing chemical, radiological, and industrial hazards in a fast-moving startup environment. Responsibilities include developing LOTO programs, performing risk assessments, and delivering safety training.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a related Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability through projects or portfolio.
• Strong understanding of health and safety fundamentals.
• Ability to assess risks and implement mitigation.
• Effective cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Support development and improvement of LOTO programs and procedures.
• Identify electrical hazards and conduct risk assessments for labs and operations.
• Help create and maintain equipment energy control procedures and docs.
• Develop and deliver safety training on electrical safety and LOTO practices.
• Support electrical hazard assessments, labeling, and PPE evaluations.
• Promote strong safety culture through engagement and safe practices.
