Job summary

National Carwash Solutions is seeking an EHS Intern to support the environmental, health, and safety responsibilities. This role provides exposure to OSHA, EPA, DOT, DNR, and DOL compliance while gaining hands-on experience in a full-service fluids and systems environment.

You will assist in developing safety policies, conducting audits, coordinating safety committees, and helping maintain safety equipment in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or has a degree in HR, safety, environmental science, or related field.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Work across cross-functional groups.
• MS Office proficiency; basic safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director of Safety & Compliance in driving continual improvement.
• Develop, create, and present safety policies and training materials.
• Gather GPS metrics, track incentives, and assist investigations.
• Perform periodic safety checks and audits.
• Assist in and/or chair safety committee meetings.
• Coordinate industrial hygiene testing (noise, air quality).
• Maintain access to safety equipment; assist with procurements.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, local laws, and company safety policies.
• Engage employees in safety-related tasks and events.

This role will provide exposure to multiple facets of the environmental, health, and safety responsibilities, including administrative tasks and support to our EHS department's daily activities. Job Duties

• Collaborate with the Director of Safety & Compliance to assist in NCS's vision of continual improvement
• Assist in developing, creating, and/or presenting awareness and training materials regarding safety policies and topics
• Gather GPS metrics to product safe driving reports, track employee incentives, and perform investigations
• Perform periodic safety checks/audits
• Assist in and/or chair safety committee meetings
• Coordinate industrial hygiene testing related to noise and air quality
• Maintain employee access to safety equipment
• Assist and interact with employees for their procurement of safety glasses and safety shoes
• Comply with all applicable OSHA, EPA, local regulatory laws, and company safety policies
• Participate in and take the lead on several employee engagement tasks and events
• Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or studying toward a degree in Human Resources Management, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
• Ability to maintain confidential information
• Work across cross-functional groups
• MS Office experience needed
• Adobe document creation experience (preferred)
• Strong organizational skills
• Basic understanding of employment law
• Basic understanding of workplace safety
