Job summary

James Hardie is seeking a summer intern to gain hands-on experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) data analytics. The 12-week paid internship offers real-world exposure, mentorship, and opportunities to work with Intelex data, build dashboards, and contribute to Zero Harm initiatives.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a bachelor's program, with a 3.0 GPA, available for full-time work in summer 2027, and authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising junior or rising senior).
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support EHSS projects through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Extract, validate, and consolidate EHSS data from Intelex, including Fiber Cement and Outdoor Living metrics.
• Track and manage Zero Harm Month award data and support program coordination.
• Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, and documentation to communicate EHSS performance and trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and safety performance.

Our 12‑week paid internship program is designed to provide real‑world industry exposure, strengthen your professional and technical skills, and help prepare you for a successful career. Throughout the program, you will collaborate with experienced professionals, build valuable relationships across the organization, and take on work that makes a measurable impact. Internship Objective

Gain hands‑on experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs by supporting data analytics, documentation management, and continuous improvement initiatives. The intern will work closely with EHS team members to analyze safety data, support health and safety projects, assist with training activities, and develop reports and presentations that drive informed decision‑making.

Through collaboration on site initiatives, including Zero Harm Month, the intern will develop technical, analytical, and communication skills while contributing to a safer workplace and advancing James Hardie's commitment to a Zero Harm culture.

What You’ll Do:

• Support EHSS projects through data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Extract, validate, and consolidate EHSS data from Intelex, including Fiber Cement and Outdoor Living metrics.

• Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, and documentation to communicate EHSS performance and trends.

What You’ll Bring:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising junior or rising senior).
• Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work full‑time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

What You’ll Receive:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and may change over time.
