Job summary

Primetals Technologies USA is seeking an EHS Engineer/Specialist for the Calvert, AL location to ensure day-to-day compliance with the Quality Management System and Environmental, Health and Safety program at the local level, maintaining ISO and EPA certifications. This position reports to the VP of Quality and EHS for Primetals Technologies USA and to the General Manager in Calvert AL.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least two years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents and regulations; write reports and procedures; present information to groups.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret technical instructions.
Computer skills include database, risk management, project management, spreadsheets and word processing.

Responsibilities

Perform and document plant safety walkthroughs and implement corrections and improvements to safety issues.
Manage and maintain all safety related documentation including SDS records.
Maintain regulatory agency compliance and monitor regulation changes.
Facility Management Representative for audits/assessments.
Lead investigations of safety/environmental incidents and participate in training programs.
Serve as primary safety/quality resource for problem identification, nonconformance reporting, and continuous improvement.
Maintain ISO system and participate in ISO audits.
