Job summary

Toyota Material Handling North America is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Engineer to implement and maintain safety programs at our East Chicago, IN site. You will monitor health and safety initiatives, lead training, and investigate incidents to prevent recurrence in a hands-on manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates hold a related degree and have experience in industrial manufacturing, with CSP/ASP/CIH certifications a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Assist in monitoring and coordinating health and safety programs, including inspections and training.
Promote safety culture by implementing procedures, campaigns, and programs to prevent injuries and incidents.
Investigate accidents to determine causes and preventive measures.
Ensure timely reporting and corrective actions for incidents and hazards.
Evaluate machinery and equipment for safety risks.
Deliver safety trainings and audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.
Inspect facilities for safety concerns and report findings to management.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve safety performance.
Develop and implement best practices for continuous safety improvements.
Communicate emergency plans and coordinate drills.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
