Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Engineer, Contractor Management, to lead contractor safety programs and support a fast-paced Business Operations team. The role requires autonomous work across domestic and international sites, with travel to engage suppliers and internal teams.

The ideal candidate brings a strong EHS background, proven ability to implement safety programs, and a customer-service mindset to advise field operations while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in design, development and oversight of EHS disciplines.
• Experience managing contractor safety programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement contractor management safety programs across the organization.
• Collaborate with supply, legal and operational partners to drive program success.
• Provide expert EHS support to the Business Operations team as safety partner.
• Travel as needed to engage suppliers, contractors and internal teams.
• Conduct site assessments, audits, hazard analyses, and safety inspections with minimal oversight.
• Develop and implement safety programs, training and risk mitigation strategies.
• Respond to urgent safety concerns and support incident investigations.
• Champion a strong safety culture while balancing operational demands
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvement
