Job summary

Textron Aviation is seeking an EHS Engineer in Independence, KS to design, advise, and assist with Environmental Health and Safety programs across manufacturing areas. You will apply federal, state, and corporate policies to protect workers and the environment.

You will lead or support incident investigations, ergonomic reviews, and training while coordinating with regulatory bodies and internal teams to drive a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relative experience.
• Experience in Environmental Compliance, Safety, Health Management, Engineering, Workers' Compensation, and Leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and assist in implementing safety and environmental policies complying with EPA/OSHA and corporate policies.
• Attend EHS meetings to stay updated and communicate to leadership.
• Research and propose solutions for safety upgrades and health/environmental challenges.
• Lead multifunctional teams to implement EHS practices across the organization.
• Respond to EHS concerns and propose solutions based on best-practice principles.
• Assist with incident investigations and provide recommendations to prevent recurrences with root-cause analysis.
• Lead ergonomic reviews and preliminary investigations as needed.
• Provide safety training and coaching to employees.
