Fortis Construction, Inc. is hiring an EHS Engineer in Tulsa, Oklahoma to support project teams in ensuring safety during construction. The position focuses on planning, conducting safety training, and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations.
The ideal candidate will have 1–4 years of experience in the construction industry and excellent communication skills. Responsibilities include monitoring work activities, developing safety programs, and ensuring a safe work environment for team members and subcontractors.
The EHS Engineer supports the EHS Leads and project team in the safe construction of a project. This position assists the project team in planning, monitoring work activities, and achieving correction of unsafe acts or conditions while working at the project site. The role encompasses ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors. A successful EHS Engineer develops positive professional relationships while working closely with field personnel, all levels of management, and outside agencies during all phases of construction. They must be dedicated to upholding compliance and standards in an ever‑changing, fast‑paced environment while also navigating a broad spectrum of skill levels, seniority, and authority levels.
Work is performed on an active construction site. Role requires standing or walking for long periods of time. Utilize standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Communicate with internal and external contacts, including speaking and hearing. May occasionally move equipment up to 50lbs.
