Job summary

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of relatable experience in EHS program development, safety management, and implementation.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local EHS regulations.
• Strong risk assessment and hazard identification capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local EHS regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and RCRA, staying current on changes.
• Lead and support Risk Assessments (RA), HazOp processes, and ensure actions are incorporated into the design delivery process.
• Support the Pre-Start-Up Safety Review (PSSR) process, addressing issues and gaps.
• Lead the development, implementation, and management of EHS policies, procedures, and programs.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate hazards through safety assessments, inspections, and audits.
• Monitor regulations and submit regulatory reports as necessary.
• Develop, implement, and deliver EHS training programs for employees.
• Cultivate a strong understanding of daily operations and improve local EHS culture and safety performance.

The incumbent works closely with engineering teams to integrate EHS considerations into designs, processes, and operational activities. The EHS Engineer develops and implements risk management strategies, safety protocols, and environmental sustainability initiatives, ensuring that all activities align with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
