The EHS Engineer serves as the company-wide lead for EHS compliance audits and ISO certification, maintains and improves the EHS management system, applies regulatory changes across site documentation and training, owns EHS performance indicators, and reports EHS status, issues, and improvement proposals to leadership.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Audit and ISO Certification Management (Company-wide Lead)
  • Serve as the company-wide lead and primary point of contact for EHS compliance audits and ISO certification activities, including ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
  • Plan and lead the internal audit program: build the annual audit schedule, prepare checklists, conduct audits, and issue audit reports.
  • Coordinate external and third-party audits, regulatory inspections, and certification body visits, including preparation, on-site support, and closure of findings.
  • Lead the organization through certification, surveillance, and recertification cycles, and manage the closure of nonconformities and observations across all affected teams.
  • Track audit findings and corrective actions to completion, verify effectiveness, and elevate overdue or high-risk items.
EHS Management System Maintenance and Improvement
  • Maintain the EHS management system so that it stays current, audit-ready, and aligned with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the performance of EHS programs through inspections, self-assessments, data reviews, and field verification.
  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities, lead root cause analysis for system-level and recurring issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions to closure with the responsible teams.
  • Manage EHS documentation and records, including document control, revision history, retention, and traceability.
Regulatory and Compliance Review
  • Review and track applicable EHS regulations and standards (OSHA, EPA, Georgia EPD, ISO, and other applicable requirements), and monitor changes that affect the site.
  • Analyze regulatory changes, determine how they apply to site operations, and update policies, procedures, and work instructions accordingly.
  • Communicate changes and their practical impact to affected teams, and provide guidance and training on the updated requirements.
  • Research and develop best practices for compliance, benchmarking internal programs against industry practice and other Qcells sites.
  • Maintain a compliance calendar and obligation register covering permits, reporting deadlines, and recurring requirements.
EHS and GHG KPI Development and Monitoring
  • Establish EHS key performance indicators, including leading and lagging indicators, with clear definitions, data sources, and targets.
  • Collect, verify, and analyze EHS performance data, maintain the reporting tools and dashboards used to track it, and keep metric definitions and data quality under periodic review.
  • Monitor performance against targets, identify trends and outliers, and work with responsible teams on actions when results fall short.
  • Oversee the collection and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) data (Scope 1, Scope 2, and applicable Scope 3), and maintain the calculation methodologies, emission factors, and supporting records so that the inventory is accurate, traceable, and ready for verification and reporting.
Reporting and Communication to Leadership
  • Prepare EHS reports, presentations, and summaries for leadership and management review meetings, covering compliance status, audit results, KPI performance, and open issues.
  • Escalate significant EHS issues and risks promptly, with the facts, potential impact, and recommended actions clearly stated.
  • Develop and present improvement proposals, including scope, resource needs, and expected benefit, to support management decisions.
  • Coordinate with plant, engineering, production, and corporate teams to align EHS priorities and follow up on committed actions.
