Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking an EHS Coordinator for our Rockford, IL plant. The role focuses on monitoring safety, health, and environmental procedures, maintaining records, and supporting compliance tasks.

You will lead safety programs, audits, and incident investigations to protect employees and the environment. The position requires hands-on EH&S experience in manufacturing, a relevant degree, and the ability to travel 5–10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-3 years hands-on EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or similar degree.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must provide proof of valid authorization to work in the U.S.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Familiarity with Environmental regulations (SPCC, CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, CWA, CAA, EPCRA, SARA).

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive EH&S initiatives within the plant.
• Monitor and improve safety and environmental programs and documentation.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure timely corrective actions.
• Support incident investigations to close gaps and communicate findings.
• Coordinate safety training and ensure method/procedure adherence.
• Perform safety equipment inspections and initiate repairs as needed.
• Work cross-functionally with Operations & Maintenance to reduce risk.
• Maintain compliance with environmental permits and inspections.
