Job summary

Top Wood in Georgia is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator to lead safety programs, mentor the production team, and ensure safe working conditions across processes.

You will audit existing conditions, develop safe processes, and educate staff on best practices while collaborating with plant leadership to sustain regulatory compliance and continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in industrial safety with knowledge of environmental compliance.
• Five (5+) plus years of safety experience in an industrial, military, or manufacturing process environment. Wood Products industry experience strongly preferred.
• Capable of effectively influencing front-line management to enact safety programming / processes to achieve an accident-free environment
• Knowledge and ability to comprehend and apply government safety rules, including OSHA protocols, to a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of recordkeeping & reporting requirements [OSHA, EPA, GA.EPD, Worker’s Comp.].
• Supports plant leadership - an invaluable training and support resource.
• Participates in/leads process reviews [e.g., hazard analyses, operator training, Lockout, New Hire, etc.].
• Participates in development, implementation, and support of Mill policies and systems.
• Manage Safety & Environmental recordkeeping and reporting [state, federal, and internal].
• Leads by example, leads with integrity, holds self and all employees accountable for working safely, ensures consistency in actions and results, continually drives for results.
