Orafol America's in Wallingford CT is seeking a full-time experienced EHS Coordinator/Facilities Maintenance candidate. Typical work hours are 7 AM-3:30 PM Monday -Friday. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety and compliance, while also ensuring that the physical infrastructure supports business operations effectively.Key Responsibilities:- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.- Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for employees to promote awareness and adherence to safety protocols.- Investigate incidents and accidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.- Manage waste disposal, recycling programs, and sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact.- Oversee the maintenance and repair of facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and general building upkeep.- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance projects.- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation.- Assist in emergency response planning and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.- Provide support in budget planning for EHS and facilities maintenance activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.Required Education:- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.Required Experience:- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.- Experience in facilities maintenance and management, including oversight of building systems and equipment.- Proven track record of developing and implementing EHS programs and policies.Required Skills and Abilities:- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and compliance requirements.- Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Proficient in using EHS management software and tools.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train and guide team members in EHS practices.
