Job summary

Clayton in Alabama seeks an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) professional to coordinate ISO programs with the General Manager and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The role administers ISO procedures, conducts training, tracks data, and leads improvements for safe, compliant operations across the facility.

Strong MS Office skills and travel to local sites are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associates in environmental is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and analytical thinker.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is a plus.
  • Good people/communication skills; ability to follow-up and hold people accountable.
  • Local travel will be required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the General Manager on environmental, health and safety programs.
  • Manage ISO functions and manuals for the facility.
  • Schedule EMS Committee meetings and EMS training.
  • Track data and graph trends related to ISO objectives and targets.
  • Create and update ISO communication media (bulletins, tables, videos).
  • Schedule, track and conduct EMS training (ERP, SOP, etc.).
  • Implement waste segregation and coordinate disposal of universal, special, and hazardous waste.
  • Maintain environmental compliance tracking sheet and document control per ISO requirements.
  • Investigate non-conformances and perform root cause analysis.
  • Work with EMS teams on corrective and preventive actions and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct Internal Audits, Management reviews and third-party audits.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and submit data for regulatory reports.
  • Lead cultural change toward environmental friendliness; engage community relations.
  • Coordinate safety education and accident investigations as assigned.

Job description

Position Summary

This person will coordinate with the General Manager in all environmental, health and safety programs. Responsible for the ISO functions of the organization. Implements and ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations while coordinating required training for environmental and ISO programs. Reports directly to the General Manager.


Duties / Responsibilities


  • Work with the team to develop environmental procedures

  • Responsible for overall administration of facility ISO procedures and manuals

  • Schedule EMS Committee meetings and target and objective team meetings

  • Track required data and graph and trend those related to ISO objectives and targets

  • Create and update ISO communication media (bulletin board, tabletops, video flyers, etc.)

  • Schedule, track and when necessary conduct EMS training (ERP training, general EMS training, SOP training, etc.)

  • Implement and train team on waste segregation to include coordinating universal, special and hazardous waste disposal.

  • Maintain environmental compliance tracking sheet.

  • Maintain all updates to manual, provide document control, file IAW ISO requirements and properly manage obsolete information.

  • Conduct thorough investigations of non-conformances using the required corrective action form and root cause analysis.

  • Work with EMS teams to develop preventative actions and maintain continuous improvement log.

  • Schedule and participate with the General Manager in conducting Internal Audits, Management reviews and third-party audits.

  • Ensure regulatory compliance of all local, state and federal laws and submit required data to third party for processing of regulatory reports.

  • In conjunction with the General Manager, lead the cultural change to become more environmentally friendly at home and at work.

  • Develop relationships in the local community to further environmental awareness and change.

  • Works with General Manager to help coordinate safety education, training, investigations of accidents, and other functions as assigned by the General Manager.


Education And Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent, Associates in environmental is a plus.

  • Self-motivated

  • Analytical thinking

  • Strong organization skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Power Point, Word)

  • Understanding of local, state, and federal environmental regulations is a plus

  • Good people/communication skills and the ability to follow-up and hold people accountable
