  • Bachelor's degree in safety or a related field is preferred.
  • Two years of safety/EHS experience is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements is expected.
  • Certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, or similar are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and evaluate departmental occupational safety, environmental, and health programs.
  • Assist in designing programs to control, eliminate, and prevent injury from chemical, physical, or ergonomic factors.
  • Provide regulatory oversight and counsel to management and other employee groups on safety issues.
  • Coordinate regulatory programs and processes and provide guidance on topics related to EHS.
  • Lead or support incident investigations using root cause analysis and track corrective actions.
  • Maintain OSHA 300/300A logs and incident reporting accuracy.
  • Administer the site's PPE program, HazCom and SDS management.
  • Coordinate emergency response and evacuation planning, including drills and training.
  • Serve as liaison to regulatory agencies during inspections or audits.

This is an exempt positionLocation/Travel: This role is single site, but occasional travel might exist to our other locations.AUTHORITYThe EHS Coordinator has the authority to implement, monitor, and enforce environmental, health, and safety programs within their assigned area(s) of responsibility, under the direction of EHS Manager. This authority includes, but may not be limited to:Request relevant information from any team member.Ability to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position, so long as it is consistent with established company policy and sound business judgement.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESImplement and evaluate departmental occupational safety, environmental, and health programs.Assist in designing programs to control, eliminate, and prevent injury caused by chemical, physical, or ergonomic factors.Provide regulatory oversight and counsel to management and other employee groups on a broad range of occupational safety issues and decisions.Coordinate the activities of all regulatory programs and processes.Provide guidance to a wide variety of environmental, health, and safety topics.Direct and review the analysis of accident and injury data, identifying the needs for new or modified safety programs.Develop and conduct environmental, health, and safety training for various departments and divisions.Conduct inspection, investigations, and occupational safety activities on various facilities and processes.Research occupational safety information to ensure the best available methods and equipment are adopted to minimize hazards in the workplace.Periodically act as a team leader on special projects.Maintain OSHA-required recordkeeping, including 300/300A logs, and ensure timely and accurate incident reporting.Lead or support incident investigations using root cause analysis methodology and track corrective actions to completion.Administer the site's personal protective equipment (PPE) program, including hazard assessments and PPE selection.Maintain the hazard communication (HazCom) program, including SDS management and container labeling.Coordinate emergency response and evacuation planning, including drills and employee training.Serve as a liaison to regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA, state environmental agencies, DOT as applicable) during inspections or audits.Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIESAbility to follow directions and work well in a team.Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and sound judgment in the workplace.Demonstrated flexibility, self-motivation, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.Have working knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health Administration's (OSHA) regulations and requirements.Exemplify professionalism in personal appearance, manner, and dress according to acceptable standards set by the company.Relevant certification preferred (e.g., OSHA 30, CSP, CHST, or similar).EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent, required.Bachelor's degree in safety or related field, preferred.Two years of safety/EHS experience, preferred.PHYSICAL AND MENTALStand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.Reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Talk or hear, taste or smell.Gemini Industries is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer committed to an inclusive and diverse workplace.
