Qualifications

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety function.
• Bachelor's degree in scientific discipline.
• Ability to multi-task is required.
• Strong computer skills necessary.
• Exposure to dust, heat, noise, and cold.
• Close attention to detail skills required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental, industrial, health & safety regulations for single facility.
• Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures including chemical safety, ergonomics, illness and injury prevention and building safety.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state/local environmental safety regulations and liaise with agencies.
• Oversee contracts for licensed hazardous and radioactive waste disposal and monitor waste handling.
• Oversee training programs: compliance, lab/plant inspection, hazardous materials handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, life safety.
• May be point of contact for emergency personnel.
• Ensure corrective actions for health and safety hazards.
• Monitor EHS program performance and regulatory compliance; interact with government agencies.
