Job Description:

Codex IT is seeking an EHR Migration Developer to join our growing Migration Services department. This position is a full time remote work opportunity. In this position the candidate will be responsible for balancing multiple projects simultaneously based on project status. Key duties include extraction of data from multiple disparate sources and/or databases (SQL Server, MySQL, Firebird, Advantage Database, Access, etc), securely transferring data across various transfer mediums such as AWS S3, sFTP, transforming the data into necessary data structures, leveraging ETL tools to create structured output files, while using a multitude of programmatic tools to assist with processing.

Key Functions:

Provides high quality advanced data manipulation techniques using a variety of technical toolsets and problem solving and implementation skills to convert sensitive healthcare data from a variety of source EHR systems (i.e. Nextech, iMedicWare, NextGen, MDOffice, Compulink, Zenoti, PatientNow, eClinicalWorks, etc.)

Collaborates with practice managers and vendors to define data conversion requirements following documented conversion standards and company prescribed methodologies.

Ensures that all conversions are fully tested and validated before implementation into production. Documents and describes complex processes and procedures relating to conversion of data.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with project managers and vendors to meet project deadlines for conversion testing and implementation.
• Leads evaluations of existing data with operational data owners, vendors and project managers as they develop data crosswalks between existing applications and new systems.
• Ensures that data integrity is maintained during conversion process into production and that the conversion meets the needs of the organizational stakeholders and appropriate sign offs are documented
• Determines the appropriate technical toolset to be used for each conversion i.e., HL-7, SQL database tools, XML, VBS, Perl scripting, advanced Access & Excel skills
• Coordinates with data owners, vendors and analysts to validate converted data thru small-scale, large-scale and final conversions Coordinates with technical teams to assure adequate testing environments are available when needed
• Leads identification of continuous improvement opportunities and related projects
• Provides mentoring and training to junior application analyst staff in the areas of system analysis & design, specification development Follows appropriate company conversion standards and methodologies
• Ensures converted data is accurate and meets the needs of the organizational stakeholders
• Acts as a liaison between technical staff and business subject matter experts in creating and refining conversion requirements.
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required or may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3-5 years experience in SQL Server databases, understanding T-SQL queries, and SSIS.
• 1-3 years experience in development of .NET applications.
• 1-3 years experience in healthcare or data archiving and migration
• Experience working directly with vendors.
• Knowledge of enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of systems and application development.
• Knowledge of the application of computer technology within healthcare is preferred.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Understanding of HIPAA.
• Understanding of health technology standards including HL7, CCDA, and FHIR.
