Job summary

Rocket Lab USA is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Technician II/III/Senior to manage EH&S operations at the Stennis Space Center Testfacility in MS. The role focuses on OSHA/EPA compliance, hazard identification, and incident response, with opportunities to advance responsibilities across multiple levels.

You will support in risk assessments, training coordination, and certifications while maintaining rigorous safety standards in a high-regulation manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of EH&S experience in aerospace, automotive, medical device, oil & gas, or a heavily regulated manufacturing facility.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Senior level may require 8+ years of experience in EH&S roles.

Responsibilities

• Handle HQ and Engine Development Center EH&S operations as primary responsibility.
• Inspect work areas and document activities as required by law and internal practices.
• Assist in implementing and enforcing EH&S policies across all areas.
• Support EHS Lead by responding to employee concerns.
• Identify hazards for high-risk activities, assess risks, and complete risk assessment reports.
• Evaluate new/existing jobs, processes, or systems for hazard existence/severity/likelihood.
• Assist with incident investigations.
• Evaluate equipment, tasks, processes, and work environments for EH&S or ergonomic issues.
• Complete tasks to attain required certifications (FIT test, training and safety certifications, PPE certifications).
• Respond to hazardous material/waste spills and manage containment and disposal.
