Job summary

Clopay Corporation seeks an EH&S Technician II at our Troy, Ohio facility. The role focuses on implementing safety and environmental programs, conducting training, and coordinating inspections to meet regulatory requirements.

You will investigate incidents, maintain records, and support programs like PPE, STOP, LOTO, and hearing conservation, reporting to the Director of EHS. 2+ years in manufacturing and EHS required.

Qualifications

• 2+ yrs of manufacturing experience.
• 2+ yrs of EHS experience.
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc…).
• Demonstrated regulatory knowledge and skills in both safety and environmental reporting.
• General knowledge of manufacturing environment and equipment.
• General knowledge of EHS requirements and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Implement Safety Training Program at Clopay as directed by the Director of EHS, including training delivery and material development.
• Support Safety Program implementation, including policy/procedure creation and workplace inspections.
• Support Environmental Program implementation, including policy/procedure creation and inspections.
• Perform accident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain safety and environmental records and prepare periodic reports for management.
• Manage programs such as Training, PPE, STOP, Confined Space, LOTO, Hearing Conservation, and assist with other safety programs.

We currently have an opening for a EH&S Technician ll, in our Troy, Ohio location.

Responsibilities Include

• Implementation of Safety Training Program at Clopay as directed by the Director of EHS. This will include coordination of outside training resources, performing internal safety training, and tracking/uploading training documents. Internal training coordination may include development of materials/programs as well as training delivery activities.
• Support Clopay management in Safety Program implementation. This may include, but not be limited to, review and/or creation of required safety policies & procedures, as well as workplace inspections to address Clopay or regulatory requirements.
• Support Clopay management in Environmental Program implementation. This may include, but not be limited to, review and/or creation of required environmental policies & procedures, as well as workplace inspections to address Clopay or regulatory requirements.
• Accident investigation – safety and environmental. This will include root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and sustainability audits for all implemented corrective/preventative actions.
• Maintain files and record systems relating to safety functions and prepare periodic reports and summaries to keep management informed. Maintain OSHA and other mandated government files to provide proof of compliance and maintenance of minimum standards.
• Management of the following programs: Training, PPE, STOP, Confined Space, LOTO, Hearing Conservation, and assistance with other safety related programs as directed by Director of EHS.

Education And Experience

• 2+ yrs of manufacturing experience.
• 2+ yrs of EHS experience
• Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc…)
• Demonstrated regulatory knowledge and skills in both safety and environmental reporting.
• General knowledge of manufacturing environment and equipment.
• General knowledge of EHS requirements and regulatory compliance
• Willingness and ability to carry out effective interdepartmental communication including, but not limited to, safety and environmental regulations.
• Must possess the ability to skillfully utilize computer software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office applications.
