Job summary

Behr Paint Company is seeking an EH&S Superintendent for its Heath, Ohio facility to lead safety and continuous improvement initiatives. You will champion environmental, health and safety programs while aligning safety with operational performance and training for the workforce.

The role emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, incident investigation, and data-driven decision making to foster a safe, compliant, and high-performing plant environment.

Qualifications

• Education aligned with EH&S or related field preferred.
• 3+ years EH&S or related industrial experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations.
• Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).

Job description

To thrive as an EH&S Superintendent, you’ll be a safety-focused leader who is passionate about protecting people, driving continuous improvement, and creating a culture where operational excellence thrives! In this role, you will lead facility-wide EH&S and Continuous Improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while advancing operational performance. You will partner with site leadership to integrate safety, quality, and efficiency into daily operations, lead employee training and development efforts, and drive sustainable improvements through Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies. We’ll count on you to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and develop a workplace where employees can work safely and successfully every day.

Here’s What We’re Looking For

• HS Diploma required; preferred education in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in EH&S, manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, or related industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Experience leading Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TPM, or similar methodologies
• Proven ability to develop and deliver safety training programs, new hire onboarding, and employee development initiatives
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization
• Experience conducting incident investigations, root cause analyses, risk assessments, and implementing corrective actions
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business systems, with the ability to analyze data and drive informed decision-making
