Job summary

Trinseo in Louisville, KY is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist to support loss control programs across Environmental, Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, and related areas. This role reports to the Responsible Care Leader and helps administer programs, conducts audits, and drives EH&S initiatives at the facility.

The successful candidate will have a postsecondary degree in EHS or chemical engineering, 2+ years in EH&S, and knowledge of regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary degree in EHS or chemical engineering or related field required.
• Professional certifications preferred (CSP, CHMM, CIH, CPEA) but not required.
• 2+ years of EH&S experience with a focus on Health and Safety.
• Chemical manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Identifies and interprets applicable environmental regulations.
• Emergency response experience is preferred.
• Experience with external regulatory requirements at federal and state levels.

Responsibilities

• Administer the environmental program for waste, water and air for the Louisville site.
• Participate in EH&S audits (internal and external) and provide data.
• System administrator for document control, security, and EH&S applications.
• Coordinate and assist implementation for EH&S programs within the facility.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Initiate and support Management of Change for EH&S matters.
• Serve as facility MOC reviewer for EH&S topics.
• Complete EHS assessments and monthly compliance tasks.
• Review and update SDS system annually for the facility.
