Job summary

Armstrong World Industries located in Marietta, PA, is seeking an EHS Specialist to provide safety and environmental technical and administrative support to the EHS Manager and the plant.

You will drive safety initiatives, ensure regulatory compliance, prepare required reports, and train staff while partnering with Operations, Engineering and HR to improve EHS programs and culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a safety and/or environmental related field
• 3-5 years of experience in the EHS field
• Ability to work effectively with other departments in the development of EHS programs
• Must possess skills in Word, Excel, and Power Point

Responsibilities

• Provide daily guidance and direction in EHS programs at the employee / supervisor level
• Consistently work to promote and maintain a safe working environment and a robust safety culture
• Be responsible for completing documents/reports required by local, state, and federal agencies in a timely, accurate manner
• Be responsible for recordkeeping and retrieval of documentation in the event of an emergency, audit, or as needed
• Assist with site safety and environmental compliance programs and requirements
• Identify & execute improvements in plant safety systems
• Maintain and update internal EHS tracking systems
• Assist in incident investigations and recommends corrective actions
• Provide EHS technical guidance and assistance for site project work
• Ensure on-site contractors are compliant with safety and environmental policies requirements
• Participate in New Hire Safety Orientation and safety training
• Partner with Human Resources, Engineering and Production to improve EHS Management Systems
• Maintain working relationships with corporate EHS staff and applicable regulatory agencies
• Work with operations to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and systems that lead to the reduction and prevention of safety and environmental incidents

The estimated base salary range for this role is "$70,000 to $90,000" per year.
Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience and other relevant factors

As our EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for providing safety and environmental technical and administrative support to the EHS Manager and the plant.

What you’ll be doing:

• Be goal‑oriented and comfortable working with a wide range of people on a variety of tasks.

Required Qualifications
