Job summary

DNP Imagingcomm America Corporation in Concord, NC is seeking an EH&S Specialist to monitor and maintain environmental and safety management programs, focusing on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual compliance activities.

You will conduct inspections, maintain EHS equipment, deliver weekly safety/environmental training, investigate incidents, track energy use, and maintain ISO 14001 documentation while supporting a 24/7 operation.

Qualifications

• A.S. Degree in a technical field required, B.S. degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an EH&S role within a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT regulations

Responsibilities

• Conduct Regular Inspections across the facility, focusing on Hazardous Waste Collection & Storage, Chemical Receiving & Storage Areas, Fire and Life Safety, and Emissions.
• Monitor and assist with facility operations including Emissions Control Equipment, EH&S Monitoring Equipment, Waste/Trim Removal, Dock/Truck Restraints, Ladders & Stairs, Forklift & Material Lifts.
• Maintain EHS Equipment by calibrating and ensuring functionality of monitoring equipment like LEL Monitors, Dosimeters, and Anemometers.
• Ensure accurate records and regulatory compliance related to inspections and operations.
• Develop and deliver safety/environmental training to groups of 10-50 people weekly.
• Assist with accident/injury investigations and root cause analyses; identify corrective actions.
• Monitor and track energy consumption to identify waste reductions.
• Manage ISO 14001 documentation and related records.

EH&S Specialist

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually

Job Purpose

The Environmental, Health, and Safety Specialist is responsible for monitoring and maintaining environmental and safety management programs. The EH&S Specialist will be focused on daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities essential to compliance and continuous improvement of EH&S performance.

Duties and responsibilities

• Conduct Regular Inspections throughout the facility, focusing on areas such as:
• Hazardous Waste Collection & Storage
• Chemical Receiving & Storage Areas
• Fire and Life Safety
• Pollution Control Equipment and Emissions

• Monitor and Assist with Facility Operations, including:
• Emissions Control Equipment
• EH&S Monitoring Equipment
• Waste/Trim Removal Systems
• Dock/Truck Restraints
• Overhead Doors
• Ladders & Stairs
• Forklift & Material Lifts

• Maintain EHS Equipment

• Ensure Accurate Records
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and recordkeeping requirements related to inspections and operations.

  • Identify corrective actions and follow up on their implementation.

• Monitor and Track Energy Consumption

• Look for ways to minimize or reduce waste within the facility.

• Manage ISO 14001 Documentation
  • Create and update documents within the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.

• Strong Computer Skills Required:
  • Confidently use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for daily tasks and reporting.
  • Work with cloud-based data tracking software regularly.
  • Use a tablet for inspections, filing reports, and taking notes.
  • Manage and track training assignments through our online training platform.

• Work a Flexible Schedule
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to support our 24/7 operation.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work in an office setting, and spend primary working hours at a desk using a computer and other office equipment such as printers, copiers, postage machines, etc.
• Must be able to use, handle, and manipulate items and materials, including hazardous materials, with proper material handling equipment/tools.
• Must complete 24/40-hour HAZWOPER Training and be medically qualified to wear respiratory protection.

Safety Requirements

• Ability to wear required PPE in manufacturing areas, including safety glasses, gloves (nitrile, canvas, etc), hearing protection, ANSI safety-toe footwear, and others as required.
• Must have or complete other regulatory training including HAZWOPER 24 Hour Technician, DOT Hazmat, RCRA (Hazardous Waste), etc.
